City Signs Cooperation Agreement with Hiroshima Global Academy in Education Sector

The Jakarta Provincial Government signed a Minute of Agreement with Hiroshima Global Academy, Japan, to build cooperation in international education.

Later, Jakarta Government will provide scholarships for two outstanding students to take part in educational programs at Hiroshima Global Academy with funding support from third parties.
Jakarta Secretariat Regional Cooperation Bureau Head, Marulina Dewi conveyed, the selection process will be carried out in stages by the Jakarta Education Agency and Hiroshima Global Academy.
"Hiroshima Global Academy will give quota or opportunity for two students every year, from 2026 to 2028, to join this education program," she stated, Monday (2/17).
She explained that the cooperation is a part of Jakarta's efforts to become a global city. Thus, it is neccessary to prepare high quality human resources.
"I think this is a good opportunity. Moreover it is carried out every year. We hope there will be a continuation of this cooperation every year, but the trial period is from 2026 to 2028," she expressed.
Hiroshima Global Academy Vice Principal, Kenichi Kato said that this world-standard international program is designed to prepare students to become the global citizens.
"This program aims to build world peace through international education. To achieve that, we decided to recruit students from all over the world to get to know each other with hope to achieve the world peace," he uttered.
On the other hand, Jkaarta Education Agency Acting Head, Sarjoko welcomed this cooperation as a valuable opportunity for students in Jakarta.
This cooperation is expected to be a promising first step in improving the education quality in Jakarta and preparing young generation to compete at the global level.
"I hope this cooperation will give a great learning experience for students thus they can understand the global perspective and prepare Jakarta as a global city," he mentioned.
The selection, he added, will be carried out thoroughly to ensure only students with the right qualifications are selected.
"We want to get the best qualified students to study at Hiroshima Global Academy," he asserted.
